Maria was born in Russia in 1985. She studied Contemporary Painting and Fine Art at the Central St. Martins college of Arts in London.

Her works convey a continuous reflection on contrast. Interaction of colours, dialogues between textures and the subtle game of transparency evoke a wide range of associations and memories.

«My task is to let the viewer see something of their own, without imposing a specific narrative, to convey emotions and feelings through color and composition. My works are both simple and complex, as if you were looking at something through muddy glass and childhood start emerging in front of you one by one. I am often inspired by the world around me and want to show feelings and emotions a person can experience through shapes created by nature»
